Is Santa time also Tanning time?

My husband’s reaction to my real NJ tan!

Recently I went to a Holiday Party and stood next to a woman in a sleeveless black tank top. Her arms were glowing white. It was hard to focus on what she was saying or what she was wearing because for the first time someone was paler than me.

The next day I got a Groupon email offer for a local spray tanning salon. I started to click through to buy it and then thought, wait.. tanning during the Holidays? Usually you want a tan to look effortless, like you sat on a beach all day and accidentally wound up looking like a bronzed goddess.  “Who me? tan? Oh well I’ve been running around. That’s all.”

In the summer  my fake tan it perfectly acceptable… I can walk into the room and just look healthy and glowing. In the winter if I walk into the room looking like a bronzed bar stool people are going to say, “Woahhh.. someone has been tanning!” All of the sudden the topic flying around the party is my Tropicana looking skin!

I live in the NYC area the contrast between a tan and the white snow can be blinding.  So, let’s open the discussion here, is spray tanning acceptable during the Holidays? Do you spray tan in the winter? Come on let’s talk.

  1. I do agree with all the ideas you’ve presented in your post. They’re really convincing and will definitely work. Still, the posts are too short for novices. Could you please extend them a little from next time? Thanks for the post.
