My ten year old daughter Ava absolutely LOVES to cook. As I write this she’s tempering chocolate in order to make chocolate straws. So I had to post these two cool snack ideas from one of my favorite magazines (when I have the time to read) Family Fun Magazine.
STACKABLE YUM YUM
Who doesn’t love peanut butter? This fun “Jenga” like project is perfect just as we swing full force into apple season! To prep it, slice a small apple crosswise, core the pieces, and place a few tablespoons of peanut butter in a bowl. Give your little chicken a spreader and let them build and eat their own stack.
CRUNCH THE NUMBERS
With a few weeks into the school season this cute edible calculator is perfect. To make one, use a serrated knife to trim a graham cracker sheet into a shorter rectangle (ours are about 3½ inches long). Cut a rectangle from a plain chocolate bar and attach it with chocolate frosting. Trim away the tips from three butterscotch, chocolate, or white chocolate chips. Use more frosting to attach them, along with nine M&M’s Minis candies, as shown.
